After making waves with their Q series, introducing the first-ever line of custom programmable mechanical keyboards, Keychron is now back to push the boundaries once again with the Q1 Pro, the world’s first mass-produced wireless keyboard in full aluminum that can be fully customized through QMK/VIA software. The software allows users to remap any key and create commands, shortcuts, or key combinations.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Keychron Q1 Pro, our latest innovation in the world of custom keyboards,” said Paul Tan, COO of Keychron. “We received rave reviews for Q1, but the one piece of feedback we kept receiving was that they wanted the same great features, but in a wireless model. It’s no small feat to get a stable Bluetooth signal to pass through an all-metal body but, with many design iterations and efforts from our team, we’re pleased to announce that Q1 Pro is ready to be our first full aluminum wireless keyboard. It’s designed to revolutionize the way people work on multiple devices.”

Aside from having a full metal body crafted with 6063 aluminum, other standout features of the Q1 Pro include hot-swappable keys, Bluetooth 5.1, a polycarbonate plate, south-facing RGB with 22 backlight settings, wireless battery life of up to 300 hours, and an aluminum rotary encoder for more specific commands such as zoom and adjusting volume.

The Q1 Pro starts at $174 USD for the Barebone version without switches and keycaps and is available at $199 USD for the fully-assembled version. Pre-orders are now open via the Keychron website.
