Sukii Baby Previews the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 in "Arctic Pink"

Update: We remain many months away from the expected debut of the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 “Arctic Pink,” however, teasers continue to surface. The NYC-based label gave us a first look at the shoe back in February and now Sukii Baby — who you may remember from the cover of Drake and 21 Savage’s collaborative Her Loss album — has highlighted the pair with new on-foot shots. As noted in our previous breakdown below, the pink colorway prominently features Awake’s “A” at the midfoot, which is now confirmed to be on both sides of the shoe. The tongue’s Jumpman logo also features an “Awake” wordmark, matching the logo lock-up that is visible beneath the icy translucent outsole. Release remains expected to take place on August 29 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $210 USD.

Update: Back in October it was indicated that Awake NY and Jordan Brand would be following up on their two-shoe Air Ship collab with a project featuring the Air Jordan 5. Now, the brand has just teased its “Arctic Pink” pair, revealing many key details. Said to be one of two pairs on the way, this take on the shoe sees Awake’s “A” logo prominently displayed at the lateral midfoot, adding to the silhouette’s netting detail. It also features a “NY” callout in place of the typical “23” at the right shoe’s lateral heel while Nike Air branding adorns the heel in black. Its “Arctic Pink” color scheme presents a pastel pink at the upper, accenting it with red at the lining, tongue branding and midsole spikes. Silver graces the tongue as black hits the midsole and an icy translucent outsole completes this initial look at the shoe. Original Story: Jordan Brand will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 next year, and Awake NY has reportedly been tapped to reimagine the silhouette as part of the festivities. Per an early report from Sneaker Files, the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 will feature a “Black/Racer Blue-Metallic Silver-White-Clear” color scheme and be accompanied by a complete collection of collaborative apparel.
Though no official or leaked images of the forthcoming releases have been revealed at the time of writing (the shoe pictured above is a Photoshopped mock-up) the color scheme indicates a muted look accented by bright pops of color, and, if the release maintains the ethos of previous Awake NY footwear collaborations, special branded hits.
This new take on Michael Jordan‘s fifth signature sneaker marks Awake NY’s third collaboration with Jordan Brand, following an inaugural white and red Air Ship that dropped in March 2024 and an Air Ship “Game Royal” that’s supposed to touch down in early November. Before working with Jordan Brand, Awake NY also collaborated with ASICS, Reebok and Timberland, and is still an active Converse collaborator as well.
Expect the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 to release in the back half of 2025 for a yet-to-be-determined MSRP and stay tuned for further updates as they’re made available.
