Update: The "Converse with the Hearts" Have Been Removed From Costco
Amid claims of a “distribution mishap.”
Update: Shortly after the PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Chuck 70 (also known as the “Converse with the Hearts”) were spotted en masse at select Costco locations in Canada, they’ve since been removed from the big-box warehouse club stores’ shelves.
COMME des GARCONS declined to comment.
Original Story: Costco has a new product on shelves and this time it has sparked mixed feelings with the fashion and sneaker crowds.
Instagram account @CostcoMarkhamEast has revealed a video showing sets of the once coveted COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Chuck Taylor High Tops being sold in the aisles of the wholesale mecca. The PLAY COMME des GARÇONS and Converse’s OG single hearts pack was only reissued last summer and is currently on sale at select DSM e-retailers. The pairs sold at Costco are available for $129.99 CAD and were spotted at the end of March. According to the Instagram account, the shoes are available throughout the Costco locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area including NW Toronto, Richmond Hill, both Oshawas, Mississauga Dixie/Dundas, Peterborough, Scarborough and Thorncliffe Park.
Said to be available while supplies last, the shoe are available in the siganture black and white iterations with the single heart on its lateral on the ’70s high sneakers. Take a look at the shoes below or above.
