Netflix Unveils a Heartfelt Trailer for ‘Lost in Starlight’ Animated Feature

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its first South Korean animated film, Lost in Starlight.
Set in the year 2050 in Seoul, Lost in Starlight follows Nan-Young, an astronaut with dreams of exploring Mars, and Jay, a musician with a passion for restoring retro sound equipment. Their romance begins when Nan-Young visits Jay’s shop to repair a record player left behind by her mother. As their relationship blossoms, Nan-Young is selected for a Mars expedition, forcing the couple to navigate the challenges of a long-distance relationship spanning light years.
The film’s cast features celebrated South Korean talents. Kim Tae-Ri, known for her breakout role in Park Chan-wook‘s 2016 film, The Handmaiden, brings depth to the ambitious astronaut. Meanwhile, Hong Kyung, recognized for his work in Revenant, lends his voice to the soulful musician. Produced by Climax Studio, the film is directed and co-written by Han Ji-Won, with Kang Hyun-Joo as co-writer. The trailer highlights futuristic depictions of iconic landmarks such as Sewoon Plaza and Jamsu Bridge, adding a dreamy and nostalgic aesthetic to the narrative.
